IU Salaries On The Rise, Part Of McRobbie's Plan
(BLOOMINGTON) - The number of Indiana University Bloomington employees and IU administrators whose annual salaries top $200,000 has risen from 66 last year to 74 for fiscal year 2008-09, according to university pay figures.
It's the result of IU President Michael McRobbie's push for more upper administration personnel and higher faculty salaries, and the lobbying efforts of the union that represents IU Bloomington's nearly 1,700 service workers.
A spokesman said the higher salaries are part of an effort to make IU more competitive with other Big 10 schools.
