County Detectives Investigating Rape Report At 4-H Fairgrounds

(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating a rape report at the Lawrence County 4-H Fairgrounds.
Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig tells WBIW News the department received a rape call from a 16-year-old female at the fairground shortly after midnight Saturday morning.
Craig says the alleged assailant, a 17-year-old male, has not been brought into custody. However, Craig also says detectives are working with the Lawrence County prosecutor on the case.
Right now, all they can say is that the alleged incident occurred in a wooded area near the fairgrounds parking lot.
