Monroe County Deputy Involved In Wreck Injuring 5 Others

(BLOOMINGTON) - A little after 2:00 yesterday afternoon, Monroe County Sheriff Chief Deputy Scott Mellinger says a woman with kids in the car pulled out right in front of a county squad car.
The reports say the driver, Heather Pedro, pulled into the path of a sheriff's cruiser on Vernal Pike with 4 kids in the car, causing a wreck that sent everyone in Pedro's car to Bloomington Hospital.
The kids, ranging in age from 9 months to 10 years, as well as Pedro only suffered minor injuries, and the officer, Deputy Mike Adams, suffered an injury to his wrist, and both vehicles were heavily damaged.
