Man Arrested For Boat Club Hit-And-Run

(BEDFORD) - An Oakland City man is in Lawrence County jail after police allege he got drunk, ran into another vehicle and took off.
Bedford police say 41-year-old Alan Bennett of Oakland City drove his Chevy Cavalier into the private drive of the Bedford Boat Club, struck a car owned by a Rhoda Asbury of Mitchell, and then left.
Bedford officers caught up with Bennett near 28th and R Streets, and they say he admitted to the accident, and then they say he had been drinking, which tests reportedly confirmed.
Bennett was taken to Lawrence County jail facing driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident charges.
No injuries were reported.
