Kruzan Seeking Help From Daniels To Help "Dry Out" Bloomington Damage
(BLOOMINGTON) - The City of Bloomington is asking the state for help in recovering from the flooding that nearly drowned downtown Bloomington earlier this week.
Downtown Bloomington was pounded by rains Wednesday causing water well over knee high to build up at the intersection of Kirkwood and Dunn Streets, right near the heart of downtown, and also building up in other spots along 3rd, College and Walnut Streets.
Bloomington Mayor Mark Kruzan says he is pleased there were no injuries or fatalities, but says he wants to do as much as possible to help people and businesses recover from the significant property damage.
Kruzan also says he has people working with Governor Daniels' administration and Monroe County government to help dig out from under this week's storms.
