FEMA Warning Flood Victims To Lookout For Scams
Last updated on Tuesday, June 17, 2008
(UNDATED) - FEMA Officials in South-Central Indiana are warning flood victims about scam artists.
There have been a few instances where someone shows up in a FEMA shirt and goes door-to-door, asking for bank account information.
Melynda Petrie with FEMA says they will never ask for bank information unless you contact them.
She says FEMA takes bank account info over the phone for direct depositing grants, but does not ever go door-to-door.
