Water Over Roads In Williams
(WILLIAMS) - The East Fork of the White River is already at flood stage as of yesterday morning in Seymour.
However, National Weather Service meteorologists are saying the river won't get much over a half-foot over flood stage when it crests, though that is still causing significant agricultural land flooding, and may affect some smaller, local roads.
The river is expected to fall back below flood stage in Seymour by late tonight. Here in Lawrence County, Williams is experiencing flooding, especially along IN-450 which the Indiana Department of Transportation has marked as closed.
The section of IN-450 near CR400 South is currently blocked by water that only the tallest of vehicles can pass through, and even at that, we don't recommend it. Water was about 12 inches deep underneath the railroad trestle.
Currently, we recommend Ridge Road to those who need to get to and from Williams.
The National Weather Service has not issued a forecast for flooding in Lawrence County.
