Some Gas Stations Can't Afford To Sell Fuel At Current Prices
(BLOOMINGTON) - Gas prices are getting so high, some gas station owners are having to turn off pumps because they can’t afford the parts to make their pumps top $4.00 per gallon.
In a report published by the Bloomington Herald-Times, some gas stations that have the older, mechanical pumps, are having to turn them off since they don't have gearing to go over the $4.00 mark, and those parts are reportedly hard to come by.
One such station, Crazy Joe's Hardin Ridge Trading Post in Monroe County, has already just shut down premium pumps since those prices are already over $4.00, and his regular, 87-octane fuel is priced at $3.99.
Right now, the only option some gas station owners with older pumps have is to set the pumps to sell by the half-gallon.
