Sec. Of State Rokita Issues "After Action" Report

(UNDATED) - Indiana Secretary of State Todd Rokita has issued his after-action report from Tuesday’s elections.

In his 15 page report, Rokita says his office received more than 1,300 calls throughout voting day, but, he says, 99% of them were from voters needing to confirm polling places and registration status.

Only a few calls came in regarding poll worker conduct and other problems, in Floyd County, one call came in because the voting place was surrounded by road construction making it difficult to access.

A couple counties did run out of ballots during the process including Porter, Hancock, and Jackson Counties.

In Porter County, there was a large ballot shortage, and polls were ordered to remain open an additional hour. In Jackson County, 5 precincts ran out, so they printed extra ballots, but that delayed returns as those needed to be hand-read, since the paper they were printed on couldn't be read by optical-scan machines.

Voter turnout was heavy as expected, however, final, official numbers won't be assembled until tomorrow morning.
