Larry Bird Upset Over West Baden Resort's Use Of Name
Last updated on Wednesday, May 14, 2008
(WEST BADEN) - Basketball legend Larry Bird has filed a lawsuit alleging trademark infringement.
Bird accuses the new owners of his former home in West Baden of using his name and fame without his permission.
The 12-acre property is named Legend of French Lick Resort.
The resort's web site touts it as "the former home of Larry Bird" and entices visitors to play basketball on the court where Bird "spent hours practicing and perfecting his shot when at home in French Lick."
