IU, Ivy Tech Teaming Up To Eliminate Redundant Programs
(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University and Ivy Tech Community College have developed a joint program statewide to eliminate redundant programs between the two.
According to a release, the Indiana University system will be the primary source for Hoosiers to get bachelor and advanced degrees like masters and doctorates, and Ivy Tech will be the primary source for those seeking 2-year associates' degrees.
IU and Ivy Tech will work over the next 5 years to eliminate redundant associates programs at Indiana University's 8 campuses, and focus them at Ivy Tech's 23 statewide facilities.
Though IU will retain some associates degrees that Ivy Tech can't offer, like those in the medical field and certain music and audio programs, IU and Ivy Tech will work closely with each other to develop co-branded programs, like an Ivy Tech associates in general studies with a corresponding IU bachelor's program.
