Dubois County Pair Facing 50 Years For Theft

(DUBOIS COUNTY) - State police, along with the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department and Birdseye Town Marshal have made two arrests in the theft of an ATV and a dirt bike.

The state police report says 28-year-old Jason Schepers of Huntingburg and 22-year-old Anthony Sturgeon of Jasper were arrested for the theft of a green Kawasaki ATV and an orange KTM motorcycle.

Both have been charged with 2 counts of auto theft, 2 counts of possession of stolen property, and 1 count of obstruction of justice, all felonies.

If convicted, police say Schepers and Sturgeon both face up to 15 years in the clink and $50,000 in fines.

The combined value of the vehicles is $10,000 dollars and the Dubois County Prosecutor's Office is working the case.
