Bloomington PD Has Man In Custody For Armed Robbery

(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police have one man in custody who was being sought in an armed robbery earlier this month.
Bloomington's Sergeant Jeff Canada tells WBIW News 22-year-old Antwan Rush was stopped by Indianapolis Metro Police officers yesterday for a traffic violation, and found him to be wanted on a warrant and to be in possession of items stolen from the house of a Bloomington victim.
Canada says, on April 6th, a Bloomington man woke up to 4 African American men in his home, tying him up with duct tape, brandishing a pistol, and looking for his roommate.
Unable to find the roommate, the men reportedly took a number of items, including several guitars, a shotgun, a computer and a cell phone.
When Indy police pulled over Rush, they say they found a handgun in his vehicle that matched the description of the one used in the robbery, and determined a cell phone in his car belonged to the victims.
Afterwards, the one victim would pick out rush in a photo lineup.
Rush was transferred to Monroe County jail charged with Indy felonies of parole violation, possession of a firearm by a serious violent felon, and Bloomington felonies of armed robbery and criminal confinement.
