(COLUMBUS) - Bartholomew County and Columbus police as well as law enforcement officers throughout Indiana and western Ohio are hunting for 2 men who have escaped from the Bartholomew County jail.

Police describe 27-year-old Matthew Mullins as being a white male, 5'10", 145 pounds with brown hair. 25-year-old Justin James is a white male, 6' tall, 165 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes.

Officials speculate the men escaped through a drainage tunnel that led to the inmate shower and out a wall breach intended for the expansion of the jail.

They believe, right now, they are headed towards Ohio where they reportedly have relatives.

Police ask that if you see either of these men, to call 911.
