(HUNTINGBURG) - A Huntingburg woman has been arrested for allegedly changing the amount on a check written to her.

State Police Jasper say 29-year-old Candy Mullis of Huntingburg was given a check by her estranged husband for $100, and, before she cashed it at a Spencer County bank, she allegedly changed the amount written on it without the man's consent.

When the husband noticed this, he called the bank and had the check stopped.

After an investigation, state police arrived at the Mullis home to take Candy into custody, and charge her with felony counts of forgery and theft.
