Bedford Man Faces Charges After Visiting Probation Office Drunk
(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man is accused of showing up drunk to a Lawrence County probation meeting, and then getting caught drunk driving after leaving.
Bedford police say they were called yesterday evening by the Lawrence County Probation Office saying they had an intoxicated man there and he then left without permission of probation officials.
Bedford police say the man, 44-year-old Michael Jarvis, was later found by his probation officer driving, and Bedford officers made contact near the intersection of 6th and R Streets, where they pulled him over.
Police officials say Jarvis showed signs of intoxication and tested over the legal limit when they got him back to the station.
Jarvis was taken to Lawrence County jail charged with operating while intoxicated and public intoxication.
