Area Schools Delayed Thursday Morning
(LAWRENCE COUNTY) - A number of area schools are taking precaution and either delaying or closing school for Thursday morning.
As of 6:45am Thursday morning, Mitchell Community Schools, North Lawrence Schools, St. Vincent DePaul and Stone City Christian Academy have issued 2-hour delays for Thursday, March 19th. A 1-hour delay has also been issued for Paoli Schools and JCs Christian Academy for Thursday, March 19th.
The delays will allow all bus drivers to have additional daylight when picking up students to transport them safely to school.
Due to high waters and recent state of emergencies for both Orange County and Martin County residents, Orleans Community Schools as well as Shoals Community Schools have decided to close school for Thursday, March 20th.
