Steele Encourages Hoosiers To Sign Up For Heat Assistance

(BEDFORD) - Bedford State Senator Brent Steele is encouraging his constituents to sign up for financial heating assistance.

Eligible Hoosiers can sign up with the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority which has recently announced more than $13 million in heat assistance to low-income homes.

The IHCDA says more than 350,000 households were eligible for help last year, but only 45% of those homes took advantage of the program.

If you need to sign up for assistance with heat, call the IHCDA at 1 (800) 872-0371 or call the Community Action Agency at 849-4457 in Lawrence, Orange and Washington Counties.
