(BLOOMINGTON) - Kelvin Sampson is no longer Indiana University’s head basketball coach.
Sampson resigned Friday in the wake of NCAA recruiting violations. He won't walk away empty handed though. Sampson accepted a $750,000 dollar buyout - which prevents him from suing the school.
$550,000 dollars of that buyout comes from an anonymous donor.
Assistant Coach Dan Dakich will take over on an interim basis while IU searches for a new head coach.
