Dubois County Judge Named To State Appellate Court

(INDIANAPOLIS) - Governor Mitch Daniels named a Dubois County Superior Court judge to the bench of the Indiana Court of Appeals for the 5th District.

The Honorable Elaine Brown was named to the appellate court Friday, and will take her seat on May 5th following the May 3rd retirement of Judge John Sharpnack who has held the position since 1991.

The 54-year-old Brown, who is an Indiana University Law School alum, has been a judge in Jasper off and on since 1987, started the Dubois County Drug Court, served as a special judge on a case before the Indiana Supreme Court last year and also owned her own law firm from 2002 to 2004.
