(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was arrested late last night for violating his protection order.

Bedford police say they got a call to the 800 block of 8th Street last night from a woman claiming a man was violating a protection order she had against him.

When officers arrived, the man, 23-year-old Christopher Duke of Bedford, allegedly called several times.

After that, police reports say duke showed up at the home while officers were still there. When officers confronted him about the call, Duke reportedly acknowledged he knew about the order, and so police proceeded to take him in.

However, when he was being cuffed, he allegedly managed to get away from the officer and took off running. Officers caught him, started to cuff him again, and they say he took off once more!

Officers would catch him once more, and this time, they meant it.

Duke was taken to Lawrence County jail on charges of invasion of privacy, and resisting arrest by both force and fleeing.
