(BEDFORD) - Bedford police arrested one man on a number of charges after he allegedly vandalized a Jeep outside Shorty’s Den late Saturday night.

Bedford Police Chief Dennis Parsley tells WBIW News that officers were called to Shorty's Den regarding a man's Jeep that had the cloth top sliced and the driver's side window damaged.

The incident was caught by the bar's security personnel on video and they ran the vandal off. Bedford police were shown the video and conducted a search of the area, and found 32-year-old Aaron Terrell of Mitchell nearby, allegedly intoxicated and matching the description given, although upon approach, he allegedly gave a false name and date of birth.

Shorty's personnel confirmed Terrell was the one and, upon searching his person, allegedly found tablets of Seroquel, a depressive anti-psychotic not commonly abused, but sometimes used to come down off a methamphetamine high.

Terrell was arrested for public intoxication, criminal mischief, possession of a legend drug, false informing, and was wanted on 2 Lawrence County warrants, one for petition to revoke, and another for escape.

A receptionist at Mitchell City Hall has told WBIW News Aaron Terrell is of no relation to Mitcell Mayor Dan Terrell.
