(SHOALS) - A Bloomfield man has been nailed in Monroe County for one of the truck thefts in Shoals from 2 weeks ago.

Last night, Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies stopped 38-year-old Edward Lawson II since the truck he was driving had come back stolen.

A subsequent search warrant was issued from Martin County Circuit Court for a residence in Bloomington and, while executing the warrant, the stolen keys to the 1998 Chevy truck were allegedly found.

Lawson was taken into custody and, while being patted down, police allegedly found a bag with a white powdery substance that later tested positive for methamphetamine.

Lawson was taken to Martin County jail facing felony charges of burglary, theft, receiving stolen property, auto theft, and possession of methamphetamine.
