(MITCHELL) -Mitchell’s newly elected officials were sworn in yesterday, including newly elected Mayor Dan Terrell who was sworn in by recently appointed judge Andrea McCord.
Terrell held back tears during his acceptance speech, but said it feels good to be "official."
Concerns had been floating around the City of Mitchell that Terrell wouldn't be able to take the job due to conflicts with his railroad pension, however, Terrell said he and his crew are working on it.
Terrell says he plans to appeal to the Railroad Pension Board in Washington to suspend his pension until he is no longer mayor.
