Salvation Army Falling Short Of Christmas Goals

(BEDFORD) - The Bedford Salvation Army is barely above 50% of their goal for helping those needing assistance during the holidays.
Major Jo Ann Ashcraft reports their Christmas total is just shy of $34,000, meaning their at 52% of their goal.
She reports more than 500 children are signed up to receive gifts for the holiday season from the Salvation Army, however, only around 300 gifts have been received.
Major Jo Ann asks anyone who can help to bring a $20 or $25 gift card to the office on K Street, or pick up an angel tag from the office to help a Lawrence County child have a merry Christmas.
The Salvation Army is distributing gifts to children Thursday and Friday near the Sears on John Williams, and can also use volunteers for that endeavor.
If you need more information on how you can help, call the Salvation Army offices at 275-5429.
