IU Announces $69 Million In Grants For Law And Music
(BLOOMINGTON) - Indiana University President Michael McRobbie has announced $69 million in grants will be used to improve IU’s Schools of Music and Law.
McRobbie made the announcement this morning, saying $44 million will be used to build and equip a new North Studio Building for the Jacobs School of Music, and the remaining $25 million will be used to attract top-botch personnel to the School of Law to help make it one of the best public university law schools in the US.
Indiana's law school currently ranks #36 in the US News & World Report rankings, ahead of such bellwethers as North Carolina, Tulane and Chicago-Kent.
Though #36 for law is very impressive, the Big Ten has such a strong group of law schools, Indiana is ranked 8th among them, beating only #91 Penn State and non-ranked Purdue. Michigan leads at #8 followed by Northwestern at #12.
