Former Linton Mayor "Jimmie K" Passes Away

(LINTON) - A former long-time mayor of Linton and Greene County Democratic Party chairman has passed away.
Jimmie K. Wright passed yesterday at noon at his home at the age of 72. Wright served as mayor from 1984 to 2004, and led Democratic Party efforts in the county for 14 years as well.
Current Linton mayor, Tom Jones, who defeated Wright in the 2003 primary, ordered all flags at half staff in Linton.
Memorial services are scheduled for Monday morning at 11:00 at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home Linton Chapel.
