East Oolitic Home Burns To Ground

(EAST OOLITIC) - A fire leveled a house in Shawswick Township late last night.
Oolitic volunteer Fire Chief Jason Lewis told WBIW several volunteer fire departments responded to the call at 1199 East Oolitic Road shortly before 10:30 last night, including Oolitic and Shawswick, but when they arrived, the structure was already fully involved.
Firefighters not only had the blaze to combat with, they also had high winds making it especially difficult to put out all the hot spots, a task which could not be completed until this morning.
Lewis says the home was a total loss, but, fortunately, no one, residents nor firefighters, were injured in the fire.
