State Police Shut Down Pot Garden Near Columbus
(COLUMBUS) - The Indiana State Police Marijuana Eradication Team nailed one man in Columbus for growing marijuana.
Shortly before 1:00 in the afternoon yesterday, troopers had surveillance set up on a marijuana cultivating operation in Bartholomew County.
While watching, 54-year-old Estil Taylor allegedly came and tended the plants. After Taylor was reportedly done with his work, police arrested him without incident.
Troopers escorted Taylor back to his camper where they reportedly found around a pound of processed marijuana, methamphetamine, Schedule II substances, drug paraphernalia, 2 firearms, and a substantial amount of cash, all of which was seized.
Taylor is charged with cultivating marijuana, possession of marijuana over 30 grams, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, possession of a Schedule II substance and maintaining a common nuisance.
Taylor is now in possession of a jumpsuit and cell in Bartholomew County Jail.
