(MARTINSVILLE) - Morgan County law enforcement officers are looking for the thieves who got away with 56-thousand dollars worth of copper wire.

Investigators say Tuesday night or Wednesday morning, someone cut through a fence behind Consolidated Electrical Distributors. The thieves took three massive bundles of copper wire - usually used in homes, garages and sheds.

Investigators ask anyone with information to call them. They also ask scrap dealers to look out for people selling large amounts of pre-packaged household wire - it could be an illegal sale.

CED's stolen copper wire could net a thief up to 25-hundred dollars.
