Bedford Nurse Pleads Guilty To Drug, Fraud Charges

(BEDFORD) - A Bedford nurse pled guilty to possession of a controlled substance and Medicaid fraud after she was found to have kept patients’ Medicaid information to obtain drugs for personal use.

31-year-old Donna Brazzell, who worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), was sentenced to 1 year of prison, which was suspended to 1 year of supervised probation.

According to court files, Brazzell used Medicaid information to order prescriptions of the opiod painkiller Percoset, also known generically as oxycodone.

In addition to her probation, Brazzell must complete 40 hours of community service, submit to alcohol and drug screenings and complete the adapt program.
