2 Men Arrested In Thwarted Burglary Attempt
(NORTH VERNON) - State police Seymour and the Seymour police department reacted to a tip of men coming from Scottsburg to burglarize the Southern Indiana Recycling Center in North Vernon.
Officers staked out positions around the recycling center, when they heard noises coming from the woods. Officers followed the sounds but could not locate anyone.
Later, Jennings County sheriffs stopped a vehicle matching the description given, along County Road 800 West, just north of US-50.
Eric Rapp and Christopher McDaniel, both 21 years old, and from Scottsburg, were arrested and charged with attempted burglary, attempted theft and conspiracy to commit burglary.
Upon further search of the vehicle and the woods, 2 large duffle bags and a pair of wire cutters were recovered.
