(BEDFORD) - Sixty-seven counties have been listed eligible for disaster relief after later winter storms and tornadoes in April damaged a number of Indiana specialty crops.
The Indiana congressional delegation, including Congressmen Steve Buyer and Baron Hill, sent a letter to the US Department of Agriculture requesting disaster aid for the affected counties, including Lawrence and Monroe, which resulted in the aid.
Farmers who were affected by the storms that hit between April 4th and April 10th of this year should contact their local farm service agency for more information on how to apply for assistance.
