(BROWNSTOWN) - Jackson County has rejected the idea of an open-burning ban because of dry conditions.
12 southern Indiana counties have banned open burning, including Lawrence and Orange; Jackson county's emergency management advisory board had recommended following suit. But county commissioners say they'll rely on people to use common sense.
The Lawrence and Orange county bans on open fires remain in effect.
