Drunk Man Hits Pole, Causes Power Blip
(BEDFORD) - A 25-year-old Bloomington man struck a Duke Energy pole early Saturday morning causing a small power interruption.
Bedford police say Adam Stillions struck the electrical pole near 5th and H Streets. According to the report, Stillions said he was trying to avoid a cat, however, upon arrival, Bedford police say they noticed a smell of alcohol on his breath.
Officers took Stillions in for sobriety testing, which he allegedly failed, and also reportedly found 2 empty beer cans and a glass smoking device that smelled like marijuana in his truck.
Stillions stands charged with operating while intoxicated, public intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia and having an open container in a vehicle.
