(BEDFORD) - A Bedford man was nailed for a number of charges after getting caught allegedly stealing a bag of M&Ms.
According to a Bedford police report, 20-year-old Eugene C. Baer III walked into the Circle-K convenience store on 16th St. intoxicated.
A Bedford officer, who happened to be in there at the same time, allegedly saw him stuff something that looked like a bag of candy under his shirt. The officer confronted him about it, Baer denied taking anything, but then the officer reportedly smelled alcohol on his breath.
Police arrested Baer for public intoxication, and Baer allegedly became belligerent and argumentative. The officer completed the arrest and, upon searching him, said he found the candy in the front of his pants.
Baer stands charged with public intoxication, illegal consumption, disorderly conduct, theft and resisting arrest with force; all for a measly bag of M&Ms.
