(BEDFORD) - The Central Indiana Community Foundation has awarded Bedford Revitalization, Inc. a $25,000 grant from the Efroymson Fund for the moving and restoration of the William T. Riley house.

Riley, a Bedford native who made waves as an artist in California, and has works in the permanent collections of the New York and San Francisco Museums of Modern Art as well as the Art Institute of Chicago, was born in a house on 25th street.

The house, which is near Dunn Memorial Hospital, was in danger of being knocked down in favor of more medical facilities.

However, the wrecking ball has been held as Bedford Revitalization, with new help from its grant, seeks to move the house to a new location and restore it.
