Medora Superintendent Arrested On Corruption Charges
(MEDORA) - The superintendant of Medora Community School Corporation was arrested last Friday on criminal charges.
Indiana State Police in Seymour received a tip in February of this year alleging superintendent Dr. Andrew Day III, of Sellersburg, IN, was using school corporation personnel for personal uses, while they were on school time.
The State Police have been investigating the report for the past 6 months and were able to have a warrant issued for Day's arrest Thursday, August 23. Day was taken into custody Friday, August 24 without incident.
Seymour District Detective Roger Drew has alleged that, not only was Day engaged in official misconduct, he also reportedly made threats to school corporation workers regarding giving information to the investigators.
Day faces two counts of ghost employment, one count of official misconduct, and one count of intimidation, all felonies. If convicted, Day could face between nine months and nine years in prison.
