Greenwood Man Arrested For Falsely Fingering Sheriff

(SEYMOUR) - Monday afternoon, the Seymour district of the Indiana State Police arrested 35-year-old Samuel Strouse of Greenwood, Indiana.

Strouse faces five misdemeanor criminal counts relating to an allegation he made against Washington County Sheriff Claude Combs. This past February, Strouse filed a complaint stating Sheriff Combs had beat him at the sheriff's office while discussing a matter Strouse was involved in.

The state police in Seymour investigated the claim and discovered Strouse allegedly gave false information to Detective Roger Drew of Monroe County who was assisting with the investigation.

Strouse was arrested on a warrant out of Washington County and faces charges of false informing, criminal mischief, two counts of intimidation and harassment.
