Former Bedford Radio Personality Dies
(BEDFORD) - A part of Bedford’s radio history has died.
Charles David Johnson, better known as "Bud" Johnson died Monday at Bloomington Hospital.
Johnson was one of the original employees of Bedford's WBIW. He was also a producer, director and voice-over talent for several television and radio stations in western Indiana.
Johnson returned to Bedford to live out his remaining years becoming the public affairs officer for the then Naval Ammunition Depot and later Naval Weapons Support Center at Crane.
He was well liked by the community and was a long-time participant in the Little Theater of Bedford serving as president and as treasurer.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11:00AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church with burial in the Green Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 4:00PM to 8:00PM Friday at the Ferguson-Lee Funeral Home in Bedford.
