Mitchell Man Tries To Make Ammends

(BEDFORD) - A Mitchell man was arrested after he attempted to return to the scene of the crime.
33-year-old William Scherschel allegedly shoplifted a whiskey bottle from the Jug Store on 16th Street in Bedford. Scherschel then apparently decided differently and came back to the store.
As he left, Scherschel ran and a customer grabbed him and detained him until police could arrive.
After talking with all involved, police charged Scherschel with theft and public intoxication.
