(BEDFORD) - Earlier this year the city of Bedford was designated as a new Preserve America town.

Headed by First Lady Laura Bush, this is the highest national award for historic preservation achievement. A Preserve America sign was presented to the city and was erected on the east side of town on Hwy. 50.

Now, Mary Margaret Stipp with the Bedford Historic Review Board wants to put two more signs up on Hwy. 37 to let more people be aware of the title. She says since the board has no money they have no way to pay for the new signs.

Stipp is looking for donors who would be willing to pay for the printing and installation of the signs.

If you are interested in helping, contact Mary Margaret Stipp by calling the Bedford City Mayor's office.

Bedford is one of about 500 communities across America with the honored identity.
