(BEDFORD) - Fire fighters from all three Bedford fire stations were called to a fire at Charlie’s Fireworks and Used Car lot on Mitchell Road south of Bedford late Friday night.

A couple of storage units were damaged from the blaze. They were holding supplies of fireworks. Fire fighters stayed at the scene until just after midnight Saturday morning to make sure the fire was completely put out. No one was injured in the minor blaze.

Additionally, Bedford police are investigating a report of a man who was in the area just before the time of the fire. Police spotted 42-year-old Ed Owen Phillips in one of the storage buildings. It was found he had a petition to revoke an earlier public intoxication charge. Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fire.
