Assistance Available For Summer Cooling

(MITCHELL) - Hoosier Uplands in Mitchell is once again offering limited help to eligible households in Lawrence County needing Summer Cooling Assistance.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is providing the funding administered by the Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority.

Eligible households who participated in the Winter Assistance Program can receive up to two box fans or a $100 payment to their electric utility company.

A family of four with an income of $30,000 or less is eligible. For a larger or smaller family, add or subtract $5,100.

Orange, Washington and Martin counties are also participating in this assistance program.
