(MITCHELL) - The Mitchell Community Schools Board of Trustees held their monthly meeting last night.

It was learned that nearly all of the schools in Mitchell will be getting new roofs this summer. HRC Roofing and Sheet Metal was given the project. Final cost is nearly $430,000.

Meanwhile, the board decided not to re-sand the Mitchell High School Gym floor after construction workers scratched the basketball floor while working inside the building.

The floor can only be sanded about four times before a new one needs to be installed. The floor has been sanded twice so far.

Finally, Larry Hartman with the Mitchell Baseball Community League spoke with the board about comments coach Ted Parker is telling his athletes.

Hartman says Parker is telling the high school athletes that they can only play on his team or Mr. Hartman's team not both. Hartman says that's not right and wants the board to talk with Parker.

After hearing Hartman, the board took the request under advisement.

There are about 400 children in the baseball leagues.
