(BEDFORD) - Lawrence County Sheriff Sam Craig has implemented a new registry for those who take care of autistic children or adults.

Craig says an Autism Spectrum Disorder 911 Registry Form can be filled out so if there is a situation where police are needed at a home with an autistic individual they will be better able to handle the circumstances.

Craig also notes that a training session was recently conducted to learn how to be able to handle autistic individuals in a calm and orderly manner.

Contact the Lawrence County Sheriff's Department for more information.
