(BLOOMINGTON) - Two people have died in water-related accidents in the Bloomington area.

44-year-old David Hooks of Indianapolis was at a party Saturday on a docked boat in Lake Monroe. Friends say Hooks fell off the dock. A friend jumped in and rescued him.

Hooks' friends went inside to change into dry clothes, and left him sitting alone on the dock. When they came back, hooks had disappeared.

The Monroe County-Bloomington dive and rescue team searched the lake and found hooks' body at a depth of about 35 feet.

The group of friends say they were consuming alcohol at the time of Hooks' fall into the water. Toxicology tests will be done. No charges have been filed.

In Morgantown, an 84-year-old man fishing with his 91-year-old friend on Friday fell into a private pond. Samuel Witt was pulled from the water by a 14-year-old girl who ran to the scene to help.

Investigators say Witt's death has not been ruled a drowning. They are wondering if he suffered a heart attack or some other medical problem that caused him to fall into the water.
