(BLOOMINGTON) - Bloomington police believe they have caught up with a man accused of cashing counterfeit $100 bills.
31-year-old Michael Bieniek faces charges of fraud and theft. Police say Bieniek tried to trade the fake hundreds at an insurance office and a grocery store.
He didn't get very far because both businesses turned him away and called police. Bieniek told officers he got the bills from a man he worked with. Bieniek was taken to the Monroe County jail.
