Highway Commissioner And Engineer Jobs May Be Filled

(BEDFORD) - The Lawrence County Council continues to look for new Highway Supervisors.

After trying to consolidate the commissioner's and engineer's jobs, it was decided to reinstate the two jobs.

Two candidates are currently being interviewed. One is planning to retire from his current job, the other wants more than the county is advertising.

The council has decided to raise the maximum amount for each job to $45,000. That is a $4,000 increase for both jobs.
