(BEDFORD) - Nearly 320 Bedford residents showed up at the Bedford National Guard Armory during a very sunny Sunday afternoon to participate in this year’s March of Dimes WalkAmerica.
During pre-event activities, 5-year-old McKinley Beyers was presented a bicycle as a gift for raising $120 by herself from her school in Mitchell. This is March of Dimes biggest annual fund-raiser and from the Bedford area alone, more than $38,000 was raised.
The hundreds of walkers traversed the 5-kilometer trail that was laid out around Bedford. March of Dimes Community Director Rick Reed says this was the largest turnout for Bedford in years.
